Egg Catching Guide

Egg catching is one of the most core features of Xeno Bot. This mechanic allows users to collect eggs, grow their xenomorph collections, and build their ultimate hive.

How It Works

Eggs spawn randomly within Discord text channels configured to allow them. These eggs are the starting point for building your collection.

Eggs are automatically generated by the bot in eligible channels. The timing, egg type, and quantity are randomized. - Catch Eggs Quickly:
To collect an egg, users must egg in the same channel before anyone else. - Egg Types:
Each egg has distinct properties and can eventually evolve into different xenomorphs. Some eggs may be rarer than others, so stay alert for unique or special spawns.

Catching Eggs

Here is the step-by-step process for catching eggs in Xeno Bot:

  1. Respond Quickly:
    When an egg spawns, you'll see a message like this:
    "An egg has appeared in the channel! Type egg to claim it!"
  2. Use the Catch Command:
    Enter the command as fast as possible to claim the egg:
    egg
  3. Confirmation:
    Upon success, the bot will confirm with a message like:
    "Congrats! You caught 1 🥚 Alien Egg. You now have 3 Alien Eggs in total."
  4. Missed Opportunities:
    If someone else claims the egg first, the bot will notify you.

Hatching Your Eggs

Once you've caught some eggs, you can progress further by hatching them. Hatching converts eggs into Facehuggers, which can evolve into Xenomorphs, grow your collection or participate in advanced features like trading or evolving.

How to Hatch Eggs:

  1. Open the hatching menu using: 
    /eggs hatch
  2. Choose the egg type you want to hatch.
  3. If successful, you'll receive a message confirming the Facehugger that emerged from the egg via a DM.

Strategies for Success

Be Active:

Eggs spawn randomly, so being active in text channels increases your chances of catching one. Enable channel notifications or check back frequently.

Monitor Special Spawns:

Rare egg types are sometimes generated during community events or at specific times. Keep an eye on announcements from the bot or official discord.

Compete & Collaborate:

While catching requires speed, you can exchange eggs or collaborate with other players to complete your collection.

Troubleshooting Egg Catching

If you encounter issues while trying to catch eggs, review the following steps:

  • Ensure Bot Permissions:
    Confirm that Xeno Bot has permission to send and read messages in the active channel.

  • Channel Setup:
    Not all channels support egg spawns. Check with your server admin or bot command /setup details to ensure egg-catching is enabled.

  • Timing Conflicts:
    If your catch command is frequently late, consider network latency or increase your responsiveness during spawns.

    Display a list of the eggs you’ve collected:

  • Trade Eggs:
    Trade your eggs with another user via secure gifting:
