The factions system in Xeno Bot introduces a thrilling global layer of competition to the gameplay. Factions bind hives together under overarching banners, allowing players to battle for dominance across servers. With specific requirements to create and join factions.

What are Factions?

Factions are global alliances of hives in Xeno Bot. These alliances are centred around hive battles, resources, and the leadership of Royal Queens. Factions transcend individual Discord servers, meaning players can team up or fight against others on a global scale.

Key Highlights:

  • Hierarchical Structure:
  • Hives operate under factions, forming smaller groups within larger alliances.
  • Only hives of a specific type can join factions of the same type (e.g., Red Hives join the Red Faction).

  • Faction Battles:

  • Engage in battles with rival factions to assert dominance, earn rewards, and secure control over resources.
  • Special Factions:
  • Default Faction: A starting point for players without an active faction.
  • Pathogen Faction: A unique faction that can only be joined after mutating a Royal Queen.

Creating a Faction

Faction creation is restricted to ensure fairness and strategic depth. Not everyone can create factions, this privilege is reserved for specific Discord users trusted by the system's administrators.

Requirements:

  1. Permission: Only approved users chosen by the bot's creator can create factions. This privilege is non-transferable.
  2. Global Influence: Factions are global alliances, meaning their reach extends across all servers where Xeno Bot operates.

How to Create:

  • If you meet the criteria and wish to create a faction, use the /faction-create command. Follow the bot’s instructions to define the faction’s name, type, and other details.

Warning

Once a faction is created, it cannot be deleted or renamed. Choose your faction’s identity carefully!

Joining a Faction

Choosing Your Faction:

  1. Players can choose to align with a specific faction, such as the Red Faction or Black Faction.
  2. If your hive doesn’t match the faction type (e.g., attempting to join a Red Faction with a Black Hive), you will not be allowed to join.

Default Faction:

  • Players who don’t wish to join a custom faction can join the Default Faction.

Pathogen Faction:

  • The Pathogen Faction is locked by default.
  • To join this faction, you must mutate a Royal Queen in your hive, which unlocks the option to join the faction.

Command to Join:

Use the following command to join a faction:

/faction-join [faction_name]

Hive Wars: The Heart of Factions

At the core of the factions system lies Hive Wars, where factions compete against one another in battles. Hive Wars are about strategy, coordination, and showing off your xenomorph collection.

Key Features:

  1. Faction vs Faction:
  2. Battle rival factions on a global scale.
  3. Your hive’s contribution influences your faction’s power and standings.

  4. Royal Queens:

  5. The Royal Queen of each faction leads the battles and represents the faction's strength.
  6. Hives under the faction must work together to support their Royal Queen.

  7. Rewards:

  8. Winning Hive Wars can yield exclusive rewards, such as rare items, xenomorphs, or faction boosts.

  9. Types of Hive Wars:

  10. Scored Battles: Accumulate points for your faction.
  11. Resource Raids: Compete for rare loot and resources that benefit your faction.

Faction Hierarchy

Each faction has a defined structure, with roles contributing to its power and hierarchy:

1. Royal Queens

  • Lead the faction and are the most powerful xenomorphs in your faction.
  • Only one Royal Queen per faction.

2. Hives

  • Individual hives act as the backbone of a faction, contributing resources, battling, and completing objectives.
